Is the Crypto Bear Market Finally Ending? Dogecoin Shows Early Signs

Bitcoin and Dogecoin are stirring as cryptocurrencies tick higher, sparking hope that the prolonged bear market might be nearing its end. Could Dogecoin be gearing for a surge ahead?

The latest shake in the cryptocurrency market suggests the bear run might finally be slowing down. Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Dogecoin have all edged higher recently, even as traditional stocks pulled back amid persistent inflation concerns.

Bitcoin briefly broke above $61,000, though it faced resistance and retraced slightly, only to bounce back again to around $61,400. Ethereum flirted with the $17,000 mark, while XRP and Dogecoin also posted gains. This uptick comes amidst more than $450 million liquidated across the crypto market within 24 hours, wiping out 279 million in shorts, showing the volatility and the high stakes currently at play.

Looking at Bitcoin’s weekly charts reveals something intriguing—the current bear market’s timeline bears striking resemblance to the previous cycle from late 2021 to mid-2022. Both periods span roughly October to June, framing the typical bear phase we’ve seen before. While history doesn’t guarantee an identical repeat, Bitcoin experienced a steady accumulation phase post-bear market then surged dramatically, rising from around $15,000 to $126,000—an almost 10x increase.

If this pattern plays out similarly this time, the market may have already hit its bottom and is entering that crucial accumulation phase. However, beating those past gains won’t be easy. Institutional investment will need to ramp up significantly for Bitcoin or others to break new ground from much higher starting points. Still, the opportunity lies in accumulating during these quieter times, positioning for the eventual upswing.

Dogecoin’s story parallels Bitcoin’s but with more volatility, as meme coins tend to thrive during periods of intense investor greed, which has been absent since early 2024. When that sentiment returns, Dogecoin could accelerate faster than major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum due to its speculative nature and devoted community.

Many investors wonder if the bull market will return at all. But given past cycles, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where it never does. The crypto ecosystem has weathered tough phases before and rebounded stronger. The question is less if and more when.
In the meantime, diversifying across promising projects—like layer two blockchains and emerging coins such as Bitcoin Hyper—could balance risk as the market finds its footing.

These recent trends offer cautious optimism but no certainties. Time will reveal if this is truly the turning point or just a pause in the storm. For now, keeping an eye on key cryptocurrencies and their price actions remains as critical as ever.
