Is the Crypto Bear Market Nearing Its End? Dogecoin Shows Signs of Life

Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and other major cryptocurrencies are starting to tick higher after a long bear market. Could we be on the verge of a fresh crypto rally? The latest market action and historical trends suggest it’s possible.

Early Signs of Life in Crypto Markets

Bitcoin broke through $61,000 recently, only to face a quick rejection and dip back to $59,000, but it climbed back to around $61,400 soon after, suggesting resilience at these levels. Ethereum edged toward $17, while altcoins like XRP and Dogecoin also saw gains. Over $450 million worth of positions were liquidated within 24 hours, mostly wiping out shorts, indicating a significant shakeout that could mark a market turning point.

These movements come amid warnings from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh about inflation remaining higher than the 2% target—another reminder of the economic pressures that influence crypto sentiment.

What History Tells Us About Bear Markets

Looking at Bitcoin’s previous bear markets offers clues. The last major slump lasted from late 2021 through the middle of 2022, mirroring the current timeframe from late 2025 to mid-2026. Both lasted roughly eight months, from October through June, ending in an accumulation phase where prices traded sideways before eventually plummeting upward again.

If history repeats itself, or even comes close, we might have just reached the bottom of this bear market. The former cycle saw Bitcoin soar nearly tenfold within the next bull market, jumping from $15,000 to $126,000. Of course, replicating such growth now requires far heavier institutional involvement, making a similar jump harder but not impossible.

Dogecoin’s Role in the Next Bull Run

While Bitcoin leads the charge, Dogecoin has been a consistent part of the crypto landscape, often riding the tide alongside major tokens. Meme coins like Dogecoin thrive in times of extreme greed—a sentiment we haven’t witnessed since 2024. When that wave returns, Dogecoin’s growth could outpace even Bitcoin or Ethereum.

For those interested in positioning themselves ahead of a potential rally, the current phase could be prime for accumulation. Diversification remains crucial, with newer projects like Bitcoin Hyper innovating on layer two blockchains and presenting fresh opportunities.

Ultimately, the question isn’t whether another bull market will come, but when—and how you prepare before it does.
