Is the Crypto Bear Market Finally Ending? Dogecoin Shows Promise

After a tough stretch, some of the biggest cryptocurrencies are showing signs of life. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and notably Dogecoin are edging higher, sparking talk that the crypto bear market may be bottoming out soon.

Crypto fans have plenty to talk about as Bitcoin broke past the $61,000 mark after a challenging bear market phase. Ethereum pushed into the mid-$16,000s, while XRP and Dogecoin also posted gains, hinting at a shift in momentum. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s comments on inflation being too high have had ripple effects across stocks and crypto alike, sending traders a mixed but intriguing signal.

The market saw over $450 million liquidated in the last 24 hours, wiping out $279 million in short positions, according to CoinGlass data, showing volatile but healthy price action. These figures fuel speculation that crypto assets may finally be turning a corner.

Looking deeper at Bitcoin’s recent price history reveals a familiar pattern. Current bear market activity dates from October or November last year through to June this year. Interestingly, the bear market that ran from late 2021 through mid-2022 followed a virtually identical timeline. Past cycles ended with an accumulation phase before a steady ascent.

During the last cycle, Bitcoin climbed from around $15,000 to nearly $126,000 — an almost tenfold increase. While replicating that performance now might be harder, given the scale and need for greater institutional involvement, the pattern offers a hopeful roadmap. If history provides a guide, we may have already hit the bottom and be entering an accumulation phase that sets the stage for sustained growth.

Going further back, the 2017 bull market shows a similar rhythm of decline, sideways accumulation, then a powerful bull run. Some critics doubt we will see another bull market, but what are the odds this cycle just stops abruptly? That seems less likely than Bitcoin hitting half a million.

Dogecoin stands out as a high-speculation asset tied closely to market sentiment and extreme greed phases — which we haven’t seen since 2024. When those cycles return, Dogecoin could soar faster than Bitcoin or Ethereum, riding the wave of renewed market enthusiasm. This is why accumulation during the current lull could be crucial for anyone looking to position ahead of the next big move.

While the future remains uncertain, and no predictions are guaranteed, observers are optimistic about how the charts line up for a potential crypto resurgence. For those interested in diversification beyond Bitcoin and Dogecoin, some altcoins like Bitcoin Hyper are also gaining attention for innovative blockchain developments.

The crypto market is far from settled, but signs of life from leading tokens suggest the bear market’s grip may be loosening. This quiet before the next storm is when smart investors prepare.
